Step Back in Time with the Iowa Interstate Railroad

Join us on Saturday, October 17th for a special passenger train experience in Stuart! The Iowa Interstate Railroad’s historic passenger cars will be in Stuart, offering train rides to Adair as a fundraiser for the White Pole Road Scenic Byway.

Ride the Train!

Step back in time and experience the charm of 100-year-old passenger train cars. The round-trip ride from Stuart to Adair is approximately 40-50 minutes, giving passengers a unique opportunity to enjoy the countryside from the rails.

All loading, unloading, and lining up for each departure will take place at the Stuart Rock Island Depot.

Rules & Notes

• ALL wagons, strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. MUST be left at the depot.
• Companions may provide assistance to get on the train; however, train conductors can NOT assist.
• There is one bathroom per coach car (5 coach cars will be used).
• NO alcohol or coolers are allowed on any of the train cars.
• NO food may be consumed on the train cars unless medically necessary.
• You MUST only get on the train in the time slot you purchased; otherwise, you will have to buy another ticket.  Supplies and seats are limited.
• You MUST have your physical ticket in hand to ride the train.
• Be there 30 minutes before departure time to line up for your correct time slot based on the color of your ticket.
• Only cross Division St in Stuart, Iowa when parking.  Do NOT cross the tracks!

Space is limited, so advance ticket purchase is encouraged.

Ticket Prices

Online advance tickets:

• Adults: $20
• Kids ages 3–12: $10
• Children ages 2 and under: FREE

Day-of tickets, while supplies last:

• Adults: $25
• Kids ages 3–12: $12
• Children ages 2 and under: FREE

Tickets & Information

Tickets must be purchased online in advance through the White Pole Road Scenic Byway website. Visit www.whitepoleroad.com/events and click “Ride the Train!” to select your departure time and purchase tickets. A limited amount of tickets will be available day of at the Stuart Rock Island Depot.

Dress for the Era

Want to make the experience even more memorable? Dressing in period-correct clothing is encouraged but not required! Come dressed for the era and help us step back in time aboard these historic passenger cars.
